1932 Pierce-Arrow Model 54 Convertible Sedan

This Pierce-Arrow Model 54 Convertible Sedan became part of the Leon-Hackney Collection in 1981. It has a 125-horsepower inline eight-cylinder engine installed in the 137-inch wheelbase chassis. It has a history that traces back to 1954 when it was registered in New York State by Donald and Joan Davis. Mrs. Davis sold the Pierce in 1973 to Ray and Dave Lipka, who restored it in black and silver with a red leather interior, and installed a correct 1932 engine. It was shown at the Pierce-Arrow Society's National Meet in 1978, winning the Vanderveer Trophy for Best of Show.

After the Pierce became part of the Leon-Hackney Collection, it was shown again at the Pierce-Arrow Society's National Meet in 1981. A year later, it was shown at Meadowbrook and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Additional restoration work was undertaken in the late 1980s. In 1986 it was driven in the Bicentennial CARavan, covering about 900 miles. Berta Leon-Hackney drove it in 2006 in the Heart of Texas CARavan.

The car currently has an older restoration with 20,547 miles.
