This Citroën 2CV Sahara 4×4 is powered by twin 424cc 2-cylinder flat air-cooled engines with two single downdraft carburetors. There are two four-speed manual gearboxes, four-wheel drum brakes with the front being inboard, and a four-wheel swing-arm Fore-Aft linked suspension. The drop-top Sahara can run as a front-engine front-drive, rear-engine rear-drive, or dual-engine 4-wheel drive. When both engines are engaged, the Sahara is capable of climbing angles of up to 45-degrees. Between 1958 and 1966, a total of 694 Saharas were constructed, and it is believed that just 27 examples remained.
This particular example was sold new in Switzerland. The current owner acquired it in 1998 from its original owner. It was then sent to Vincent Crescia for recommissioning as needed, while preserving the car's patina. It currently has approximately 64,000 km on the odometer.By Daniel Vaughan | Nov 2019
