This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2-Litre Roadster is one of 2,237 E-Type roadsters built for 1965. It was given a comprehensive 2,500-hour restoration down to the last ***** and bolt. The engine was rebuilt using all-new parts, including re-sleeving of the cylinders and dynamic balancing, assuring smooth, vibration-free operation. A new master cylinder, hoses, lines, and wheel slave cylinders were used, along with a complete brake-system rebuild to ensure safe, smooth stopping power. A new wiring harness has been fitted, along with a complete update of the electric system. The gearbox has been rebuilt, including new synchros and layshaft.
The exterior was stripped to the bare metal and finished in Opalescent Dark Blue by Deluxe Customs of Tempe, Arizona. An all-new grey leather interior was fitted and all the chrome has been re-plated professionally. New glass has been installed. The chrome wire wheels were upgraded from 5.5 to 6 inches in order to accommodate 205-series Michelin blackwall tires.
