1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster

Chassis number CSX 3237 was built in May of 1966 and finished in red with a black interior and came equipped with a 428 cubic-inch V8 engine. Its first known owner was J. Rhoades Moore of Enid, Oklahoma. It later came into the ownership of another Oklahoma-based owner, French Hickman, in the early 1970s, at which time it was reported to have been refinished in blue.

It was returned to its original red color in the 1980s and equipped with a handful of updates, including an oil cooler, hood scoop, quick jacks, black side pipes, and a custom roll bar. A few subsequent owners followed until it was purchased by Phil Combs of California. At that time, it was sent for a professional and full restoration, where it was restored to factory-original specification. After the work was completed it was sold to an owner in Japan in the 1990s, where it remained for a few years before returning to the U.S.


Mr. Fonvielle acquired it in the mid-2010s and had it shipped to Wallingford, Connecticut where it was given a full restoration. No expense was spared in bringing this Cobra back to its original specification. All original components were rebuilt or upgraded during the restoration, and the car is fitted with leather seats, correct Wilton carpeting, the original steering wheel and air splitter, as well as custom exhaust headers.
