1914 Buick Series B Navigation
Buick switched to left-hand steering with center-mounted gear change in 1914, and added Delco electric staring and lighting. The Model B55 five-passenger tourer was the top-of-the-line model and was powered by Buick's first six-cylinder engine, a 331 cubic-inch unit that offered 48 horsepower. The four-cylinder cars were more popular and was available as roadsters and tourers on wheelbase sizes of 105 and 112-inches. The shorter-wheelbase models came equipped with a 165 cubic-inch powerplant offering 22 horsepower. The longer wheelbase cars were fitted with the 221 cubic-inch, 35 horsepower engine.
This 1914 Buick Model B36 Roadster has the 221 CID engine on the 112-inch platform. The B36 roadster was the middle-range of Buick models. It is finished in deep blue with black fenders and white pinstriping. It has been given a full restoration and upholstered in black diamond-pattern buttoned leather and has a black roadster top with windshield. It is fitted with Firestone 34 × 4 Non-Skid blackwall tires on demountable rims.
This car has a three-speed sliding gear transmission, a Buick medallion MotoMeter on top of the radiator cap, and a 1975 Nebraska registration certificate attached to the steering column.By Daniel Vaughan | Jan 2020
