1908 Stanley Model M

Only 75 Model M Steamers were built over two season, and no original example has survived. There were, however, several authentic and high-quality examples to source original parts from, including the creation of this example. It was built by the late Carl Amsley of St. Thomas, Pennsylvania. This Stanley Model M Five-Passenger Touring was completed in 1978 and was awarded National First Prize in Antique Automobile Club of America competition. It was later acquired by Joseph L. Knapp of St. Cloud, Florida, and then by Otis Chandler. Mr. Chandler exchanged it in 1985 with Richard C. Paine's Seal Cove Auto Museum of Maine. The car remained in the museum until 2008, when it was acquired by John Muckel.

This Touring car is finished in dark green accented in black. The chassis, artillery wheels, and striping is done in lemon yellow. The interior is upholstered in button-tufted black leather overseen by a black cloth top. Accessories include Rushmore acetylene headlamps, E&J kerosene sidelights and taillight, a trumpet-style bulb horn, and two large side-view mirrors affixed to the windshield frame.
