1940 Lincoln Zephyr Navigation
Designed by John Tjaarda and introduced on November 2, 1935, as a 1936 model, the Lincoln-Zephyr was extremely modern with a low raked windscreen, integrated fenders, and streamlined aerodynamic design which influenced the name 'Zephyr', derived from the Greek word Zephyrus, or the god of the west wind. It was one of the first successful streamlined cars after the Chrysler Airflow's market failure.
Power was provided by a 75-degree V12 engine, based on the ubiquitous Ford flathead V8. It produced 110 horsepower from 267 cubic inches and propelled the car to over 90 miles per hour.
This car was completed on May 10, 1940 and delivered to Mckinley Gregg Auto Company 12 days later. This car made its concours debut at the 2020 Amelia Island Concours.
