The Lincoln Continental Mark II was an ultra-luxury coupé sold by Ford's Continental Division and served as the worldwide flagship vehicle of the Ford Motor Company. The Mark II made its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 1955. Like its competitor, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, the Mark II was essentially hand-built, making it the most expensive American-produced automobile sold in the United States at the time. The only option offered for the Mark II was a $595 air conditioner.

The 368 cubic-inch Lincoln Y-block V-8 powered the Mark II, paired with the 3-speed Turbo-Drive automatic transmission. While sharing its design with the standard Lincoln model line, each Continental Mark II engine was effectively factory-blueprinted; after selection from the Lincoln assembly line, the engine was disassembled and reassembled after numerous quality-control and performance inspections. The 1956 engine produced 285 horsepower.

This Mark II was delivered new to Mr. John Barnes of Osterville, MA, after extensive work was performed at Derham Custom Coach, Works in PA in order to provide additional room in the trunk for his golf clubs. This car can truly be called 'One of a Kind'.
