1957 AC Ace Bristol Navigation
Designed by Briton John Tojiero and powered by the two-liter 6-cylinder Bristol engine the AC ACE was the scourge of SCCA E Production club racing in the late 1950s and early sixties often defeating much more powerful cars.
The current owner purchased this ACE in 1987 wearing four well-used Goodyear Bluestreak Special racing tires and a dash plaque from the Abilene Sports Car Club, solid evidence of a strong competition provenance.
Legend states that designer Tojiero took styling cues from early Ferrari barchettas. In 1961 American Le Man's winner (1959) Carroll Shelby contacted AC Cars. He had the plan to replace the venerable Bristol straight-six with a new small-block Ford V-8.
