1964 Chevrolet Corvette GS IIB Roadster

A descendant of the 1963 original GS II that was built by the Chevrolet Engineering Center and shipped to Chaparral Cars of Midland, TX in 1964. After two months of testing it was returned to GM and destroyed. An updated GS IIB was built and shipped to Midland for extensive evaluation. It remained in Texas until 1968 when it was returned to the Chevrolet Engineering Center for modification. In 1969 it returned to Midland where it stayed until it was restored to its original configuration by Chaparral 20 years later.
