1972 ISO Grifo Series II Navigation
It's an intriguing recipe for an exotic car: Italian exotica blended with American brute force. In this case, it's from a 454 cubic Chevy V-8. Just 413 ISOs of all models were created, and the Can-Am is the rarest with 24 built, and only half that number were delivered with Chevy's big 454 mated to a five-speed ZF 5-speed transmission.
The Can-Am model name is appropriate as large displacement Chevy V-8s dominated the big-dollar Can-Am pro series from 1966 through the end of 1971. In the Iso Grifo the big American V-8s gave a reliable and seemingly endless amount of power. Weighing 3300 lbs and with 500 pound-feet of torque, the Can-Am's performance is electrifying. A top speed of over 175 mph can be achieved. One Grifo driver claimed that the ISO Can-Am 'eats Ferraris for breakfast.'
