Limousine
Chrysler had been using Ghia to build concept and show cars starting in the late 1940s. To produce the Crown Imperial Limousines, Chrysler shipped partially assembled Imperial hardtop coupes with 129-inch wheelbases and a reinforced X-frame. The chassis and drivetrains were complete and the bodies were fully assembled with appropriate bumpers and trim. Inside the stripped interiors were the rest of the parts needed to complete the car: four sedan doors, seat mounts, glass, a wired dashboard, dual A/C unit, leather for the upholstery, carpeting, and station wagon leaf springs for the rear, stiffer torsion bars for the front, and a lengthened driveshaft.

In 1960, Ghia was commissioned to assemble 25 Crown Imperial Limousines. 17 were actually constructed and this is #14 of those cars. It was custom built for Nelson Rockefeller and was the only one with blind rear quarter treatment and one of only two built with parade lights (the other was for Jackie Kennedy). This car was primarily used by the Rockefeller Family in Manhattan.
