1938 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible Sedan

The Lincoln-Zephyr was restyled in 1938, receiving twin grilles positioned in the forward end of the 'catwalk' section of the fenders, updating the styling and improving engine cooling. The headlamps were made flush with the fender contours, and the V-shaped nose was softened. The three-passenger convertible coupe (style 760) and the five-passenger convertible sedan (style 740) were added tot he lineup. Most convertible sedans of the era had a bustle at the rear end, but the Style 740 was different, retaining the four-door's smooth tail contour.

Both new body styles were introduced on October 23rd of 1937 and came with manually operated, spring-assisted convertible tops. The Style 760B, five-passenger convertible coupe, was added to the lineup later in the year.

This particular Convertible Sedan was owned by Eugene Beardslee and received a restoration by the late Robert Turnquist's Hibernia Auto Restorations in New Jersey. It is finished in Beetle Green, a 1938-only color, with a tan top and matching leather interior. In March of 2012, it entered the care of its current owner.
