1966 Maserati Quattroporte

Chassis number : AM 107 1084

Share on:

Sold for $44,800 at 2020 Gooding & Company : Amelia Island.
This Maserati Quattroporte is a Series II, identifiable by its revised dashboard and quad headlights. This original example has been refinished in dark blue but retains its original leather interior. The current owner acquired this four-door luxury sedan in the late 2000s from Dee Elias, curator at the Riverside International Automotive Museum in California, and has since kept it in his private collection.

Currently, this Quattroporte has less than 56,000 miles on its odometer. It recently received a new clutch and tune-up service.

Power is from a 4,136cc 90-degree DOHC V8 engine backed by four Weber DCNL5 carburetors delivering 260 horsepower at 5,000 RPM. There is a five-speed manual gearbox, hydraulic disc brakes, and an independent front suspension with coil springs. The back suspension is comprised of a live axle with semi-elliptical leaf springs. The body design is courtesy of Frua with the construction handled by Vignale.
