2016 Lamborghini Centenario Roadster Navigation
Automobili Lamborghini introduced the Centenario at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini's birth. It was based on the Aventador SV then modified with numerous technologies that were planned for forthcoming Lamborghini production models. Originally shown as a coupe, a roadster version soon followed, with introduction at California's 2016 Monterey Car Week festivities held in conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. In total, just 20 examples of the coupe and 20 of the roadster were built.
The Centenario received a rear-wheel steering system - a company first, a new infotainment system, featuring a new 10.1-inch portrait touchscreen, which also records telemetry and driving data. Aerodynamic advances included the twin-plane front air splitter, rear air diffusers, electronically controlled twin-deck rear wing, paneled underbody, and lower-front blades located on each side of the car. At 280 km/h, the Centenario generates 227 kilograms of downforce for increased grip at speed.
The Centenario was capable of sprinting from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and had a top speed of 220 mph. The 6.5-liter V-12 engine developed 759 naturally aspirated horsepower at 8,500 RPM. The power was handled by the Aventador's seven-speed ISR (Independent Shift Rod) semiautomatic gearbox in conjunction with the all-wheel-drive system developed by Haldex.
This example is finished in optional two-tone Blue Cepheus and Blue Hera paint with silver pinstripe accents. Additional options and features include carbon fiber for the front bumpers, side skirts, rear bumper, side gills, wheel covers, and roof covers, plus a carbon fiber/glass engine cover. The Nero Ade interior makes extensive use of carbon fiber, including the trim, bucket seats, door sills, and model designation, doors, and extended carbon-fiber shift paddles Other choice features include the Lamborghini Track telemetry system with cameras, blue contrasting interior stitching, a full Alcantara steering wheel, blue door pull straps, interior cross-stitching, a competition-style blue '12 o'clock' steering-wheel position marker, and Lamborghini Branding Package. There is Lamborghini Light Design LED front and rear lighting and silver brake calipers.
