1995 BMW M3 E36 Lightweight Coupe

BMW introduced a special track-oriented version of the E36-series M3 in 1955, with 225 pounds removed from the standard version by integrating aluminum doors, removal of all sound deadeners, removal of the air-conditioning system and radio, and cloth seats with manual adjustment. Along with its weight reduction, the M3 Lightweight received stiffer springs, spoilers, and an individually selected engine. The result was an increase in acceleration, better cornering, and performance.

This particular example is one of the 126 M3 Lightweights built. It was sold new by Foreign Motors of Natick, Massachusetts, and currently has less than 22,300 miles on the odometer. It is finished in Alpine White paint with BMW motorsports flag decals, the only livery offered on this model. The 2,990cc dual overhead camshaft inline 6-cylinder engine has a Bosch Motronic fuel injection system helping to deliver 240 horsepower at 6,000 RPM. The engine is backed by a five-speed manual gearbox and there are four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.
