1930 Franklin Series 147 Navigation
Franklin automobiles were produced in Syracuse, New York, from 1902 through 1934 with a total production of about 150,000. Franklins are particularly noted for the use of air-cooled engines in all vehicles produced and 'scientific lightweight' engineering design principles. In 1929, Franklin introduced the Speedster, designed by Raymond H. Dietrich, featuring a low-profile Torpedo-style body accommodating up to four passengers. In addition to the sporty look and feel, early models were equipped with a 3.92 rear axle. Speedsters were made from 1929 through 1932 and a Convertible Speedster was also offered for the 1930 and 1931 model years.

This very original example has approximately 17,000 miles on its odometer and retains about 90 percent of its original paint. This car features a 'side draft' air-cooled engine, an aluminum body, a leather interior, and a four-speed transmission.
