1959 Cadillac DeVille Navigation
For 1959, Cadillac created an elegant long and low design for the luxury market. It had a remarkable effect, and later in 1996, the 1959 Cadillac was selected for the cover of 'Life' magazine reviewing the first 100 years of the automobile.
This iconic 1950s Cadillac with the 'Big Fins' was the last design under Harley Earl prior to his retirement. From the B-52-inspired fog lamp 'pods' to the 'rocket' taillamps, this car is reflective of the 'Jet Age.' It had many creature comforts including leather-trimmed seats, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, a power seat, and a Wonderbar radio. It is powered by a 390 cubic-inch Cadillac motor and a Hydra-Matic transmission, all designed to push 225 inches of Detroit steel smoothly down the highway.
This crimson Coupe DeVille with the iconic 'Big Fins' was partially restored in 2006 when the engine and transmission were rebuilt, the air conditioning modernized, and the paint refinished. The owners acquired the car in 2009 and are the third to have the car.
