1953 Chevrolet Model 3100 Navigation
The current owner purchased this truck for her husband for Christmas of 2000. The truck was purchased in Wirtz, Virginia. For the next decade, it was a seasonal weekend driver and something with which he could tinker. Eventually, the couple decided to have a frame-off restoration performed to bring the truck back to its original glory. They chose American Classic Auto Restoration (ACAR) in Louisa, Virginia to undertake the restoration. Owners Bo and Karen Sowers thoughtfully and meticulously went through the whole truck and brought her to its current state. The intent was to keep the truck as original as possible. The cab forward is original, except for the grille, which was changed from painted to chrome. The interior components are also original to the truck, except for the radio, which was added during the restoration.
