1957 Ford Custom Series 2-Door Sedan

In 1965, at the age of 13, the current owner discovered a forlorn, engineless, 1957 Ford Custom Tudor in a shed on a Tennessee farm. The owner said that it had been used to haul moonshine and was the fastest car in the hills. It was purchased for $150 and brought home to New Jersey. It was in remarkably good condition and was back on the road by 1968, serving as his high school car.

In 1973, the current owner learned that the 'F' in the VIN signified that this was one of about 250 F-Code factory supercharged full sized Fords produced in 1957. These cars dominated NASCAR and USAC racing. This one was prepared by Ford for land speed record racing at Bonneville but never raced due to the AMA ban on racing. A correct engine, supercharger and many parts unique to the 'F' code were sourced. The 312 cubic inch V8 produces 300 horsepower.

Only nine factory supercharged Custom Tudors are known to exist. Restoration of this one began in 2011 and was completed in 2018.
