Cadillac sales for 1932 were decimated by the Great Depression, compounded even further by the unintended undercutting effect of LaSalle, resulting in just 2,693 355-Bs built. Currently, it is believed that just three examples of Fisher's 2/4-Passenger Roadster coachwork exist.
This particular example was discovered in the early 1980s by Len Immke, a Buick dealer in the Columbus, Ohio area, who backed his friend Dave Thomas in the foundation of Wendy's Restaurants. Dale Adams performed the nut-and-bolt restoration in the late 1990s. Soon after the work was completed, the car was acquired by Ed and Pam Rittenhouse of Mercer Island, Washington, and displayed at the 2002 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It took best in class at the 2004 Cincinnati Concours, earned Senior Premier Status with a 99.5-point score at the CCCA National Meet in Detroit, and is also a Cadillac-LaSalle Club Senior Award winner.
Period accessories include dual Cadillac/Pilot-Ray driving lamps, twin covered side mounts with Cadillac mirrors, a heron mascot, and a pair of cowl-mounted search lamps. There is trimmed tan leather upholstery, correct original instrumentation, a Jaeger clock, and a factory accessory Cadillac/Elkon radio feature in the dash. There is a tan canvas soft top, a pair of matching side curtains, and body-color wire wheels with stainless spokes.
The L-head V-8 engine displaces 353 cubic inches and delivers 115 horsepower (an increase from 95 bhp the previous year). There is a three-speed, all-synchromesh gearbox and mechanical brakes on four wheels.By Daniel Vaughan | Jun 2021
