2002 Dodge Viper RT 10 Convertible

The Dodge Viper was built along five distinct generations, with this 2002 Viper RT/10 convertible built during the final year of the model's second, or SR II generation. The SR II was launched in 1996 and, for the most part, retained the original styling overseen by Tom Gale. The heart of the Viper was the 8.0-liter V10 backed by a mandatory six-speed BorgWarner manual transmission that would grow in output to 450 horsepower. During the production lifespan, refinements were made to the chassis, and airbags were added for additional safety. It would remain true to its original concept and philosophy, however, with only minimal electronic driver aids.

This particular Dodge Viper RT/10 is one of 545 convertibles built for 2002, and one of 178 in the color scheme of Viper Race Yellow over black. It has a removable roof panel in body-coordinated paint, and the interior features power windows and a CD player. At all four corners are 18-inch polished aluminum five-spoke wheels. The 8.0-liter V10 engine produces 450 horsepower and there are 3,350 miles on the odometer.
