This 1967 Plymouth GTX is a black plate California car with its original engine and drivetrain, with only $59,700 miles since new. Its engine is the 440 cubic-inch overhead valve Super Commando 440 V8 engine with Carter type AFB four-barrel Model 4326S carburetor and an available 375 horsepower. There is an automatic gearbox and four-wheel drum brakes. It is the recipient of a cosmetic restoration and finished in its original colors of bright red with a vinyl black top. It is equipped with the five-spoke American Racing-style alloy wheels and a new set of red line tires.

The GTX was the optional performance car based on the Belvedere and introduced in 167 as a serious contender for street prowess. It had power and reliability with engine options ranging from the 383 cubic-inch unit, to the middle-line 440 wedge head, to the 427 Hemi that was a dominant force at the quarter-mile scene.

This vehicle was brought to the 2007 Monterey Sports & Classic Car Auction presented by RM Auctions, where it was estimated to sell for $35,000 - $45,000. It was offered without reserve with the winning bid reaching $29,700 including buyer's premium. The lot was sold.
