1995 Lotus Esprit Coupe

The Lotus Esprit was launched in October 1975 at the Paris Motor Show. It entered production in June 1976. The early cars are known as S1 models. With each major improvement over the years, the suffix evolved to reflect the changes. The Esprit ended production in 2004 after a 28-year run with a total of 10,675 having been built.

The S4S includes a smaller rear spoiler placed halfway up the rear deck lid, revised front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and valence panels. New five-spoke alloy wheels and new taillights were fitted. The turbocharged 2.2-liter engine produces 300 horsepower which results in a zero-to-sixty mph time of 4.5 seconds. Even today, that's an impressive number. The top speed is 168 miles per hour. With all of that performance, the car still delivers 27 mpg.
