1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 Navigation
The 1971 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet is regarded as the last of the hand-built Mercedes-Benz models. The '3.5' designation signifies the 3.5-liter V8 engine, which was the first V8 to be placed in a Mercedes-Benz. With 230 horsepower, it propels the cabriolet from 0-60 miles per hour in just 9 seconds with a top speed of over 120 miles per hour. In two years of production, a mere 1,232 were produced making the 280 SE Cabriolets even rarer than a 300 SL.
The current owners of this car acquired it in 2016. After using it for tours and events for several years, they commissioned a group-up restoration returning it to as-delivered condition. The 2021 Concours d'Elegance of America was its first public showing since the completion of the restoration.
