1927 Franklin Model 11-B Coupe

Franklin automobiles were produced in Syracuse, New York from 1902 through 1934. Herbert H. Franklin was a successful Syracuse die-casting manufacturer and also a newspaper publisher. He decided to enter the automobile manufacturing business after riding in a horseless carriage. Considered luxury cars, they were known for their stately and conservative design. Franklin engines are air-cooled, utilizing copper fins pressed over cast iron cylinder sleeves, and have proven to be exceptionally dependable under a variety of conditions.

Today Franklins are rarely seen, as the company was entirely controlled by Herbert H. Franklin and they had very few shareholders. Franklin bought its vehicles from the H.H. Franklin Manufacturing Company which was only moderately profitable. They often missed dividends on common stock, and it is said that dividends were only paid in 1925.

This 11-B Doctors Coupe is a well-preserved and unrestored vehicle, meticulously maintained in its original condition.
