1915 Winton Model 21 Six Runabout

1915 Winton Model 21 Six Navigation
The 1907 Winton Six was the first production six-cylinder automobile ever built. Winton would go on to produce the Six from 1907 through 1924. This is a prime example of a 1915 model that features the low-slung and sleek two-passenger Roadster body. The inline six-cylinder engine produces an impressive 48 horsepower and it is backed by a 4-speed gearbox. These were incredibly innovative features for the time, and the four-speed transmission allows effortless cruising at high speeds.

The two-passenger Roadster body featured an oval fuel tank and twin spares mounted on the rear deck. The large 25-inch Houk red-painted wire wheels add to the sporty look along with the rich nickel trim. This Winton was restored in the 1980s and was owned by Thomas Lester, a well-known collector, and competitor in many rally events. It has been used in The Great Race and even today provides dependable fun.
