1989 Porsche 911 Speedster

The 1989 Porsche Speedster was the first re-emergence of the iconic 1950s Porsche model describing a de-contented version of the top-top sports car. The original Speedster was a styling and sporting sensation, combining the body of the convertible with a raked and cut-down windshield, smaller windows, and a rain top. The same formula was re-applied for the first time in over 40 years with the 1989 Speedster, and this example, with the rare and apropos A/C delete, brought the spirit of the original Speedster to the end of the 20th Century. Although the modern Speedster has been reprised with the 964, 997, and 991, the special 1989 G-series Speedster remains the closest to the original 'less is more' concept.
