1976 Lamborghini Countach LP400 Coupe

The Countach LP 400 Periscopica was named for its engine position and capacity - Longitudinale Posteriore (Rear) 4.0-liter - and its unique periscope rear-view feature. The LP400 offered exceptional performance with its big V12 engine and rear mid-engine configuration, which forced the cab to be wedged into the nose, with the driver's feet positioned between the front wheels.

This example is one of only 157 to feature the innovative 'periscopica,' developed to increase rear-view visibility through a periscopic system set into the roof panel. Lamborghini dealer Edward Haskell imported this yellow (Giallo) Countach in August 1976, and it was purchased new by a Michigan resident who so loved the car it is rumored he parked it in his living room. Fourteen years later, the Countach went back to the original dealer where it remained for a further 14 years. In 2003, the car was acquired by Joe Sackey, a renowned collector. Three years later, Mouse Motors of Chicago, Illinois, purchased the Countach and has maintained it in superb and original, unrestored condition ever since.
