1942 Hudson Super Six Convertible

This 1942 Hudson Super Six DeLuxe Convertible is powered by a 212 cubic-inch Power Dome inline 6-cylinder engine breathing through a single carburetor and delivering 102 horsepower at 4,200 RPM. There is a three-speed manual transmission and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. It has an independent front suspension and a live rear axle. It is believed that just twelve Hudson Convertibles exist of the 1942 model-year Hudson, with nine of those being Commodores and three being Super Sixes.

This particular example was discovered in Utah in 1972 by Hudson Club member Gary Eisenberg of Fort Collins, Colorado. It remained in Mr. Eisenberg's care until 2015, when it was acquired by its current caretaker. A complete restoration soon followed, with the body-off work being performed between 2016 and 2017. The engine was rebuilt, many components were rebuilt or refinished, the interior was redone in Saddle-colored leather, a Stayfast top in tan with maroon piping was installed, and the bodywork was repainted in Pageant green color.

After the restoration, the Super Six Convertible debuted at the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club international meet in Bettendorf, Iowa.
