1956 Chevrolet One-Fifty V-8 Sedan

The 1956 Chevrolet One-Fifty was the entry-level model, offering minimal amenities and brightwork, at an affordable price. In 1955, Chevrolet offered the 150s with the 265 cubic-inch V8 engine, increasing performance even further in 1956 by offering the 265 with a four-barrel carburetor or even a dual 4-barrel carburetor setup. While the top-of-the-line Bel Air was much flashier and luxurious, the 150 was substantially sparser, with poverty hubcaps, lack of brightwork, and simple paint and interior. With less weight, the V8 150s could really scoot from a standstill.

This particular example was built at the Oakland Assembly plant in California. It has received a comprehensive restoration, taking the car back to its factory self, and fitted with a correct 1956-spec2x4 aluminum intake, correct twin 4-barrel carburetors, a Batwing air cleaner, 1956-spec dual-point distributor, 762 cylinder heads, deep-groove pulleys and a high-lift cam with solid roller lifter rockers. The V8 engine currently produces 240 horsepower than the factory rating of 225 horsepower. There is a three-speed manual transmission which adds to the vehicle's performance nature, which is devoid of a clock, radio, heater or lighter. It wears a base/clear coat black paint scheme and the one-piece bumpers were re-chromed and new stainless and die-cast trim were installed. The interior is black and white throughout with new paint and upholstery and new, correct rubber floor mats.

This Chevy 150 is equipped with a rare front sway bar and a Positraction rear end with 3.70:1 gearing. There are correct 15-inch steel wheels with original small hubcaps.

Since the restoration was completed, the car has traveled approximately 575 miles.
