1951 Talbot-Lago T15 Navigation
This 1951 Talbot T-15 LB wears coachwork by Henri Chapron Carrossier of Paris. Its 2,690cc overhead valve inline 4-cylinder engine breathes through two Stromberg carburetors and delivers 120 bhp at 4,500 RPM. It is backed by a four-speed synchromesh gearbox, and stopping power is by drum brakes.
This motorcar was acquired by Fritz Schlumpf for his collection of over 450 cars in North-Eastern France but was confiscated by the French government in 1977. Schlumpf's widow, Arlette, entered into a 22-year legal battle with the state to have the cars returned to her family. After the lengthy battle, 62 cars were released and became known as the Reserve Collection. Peter Mullin all 62 of these cars in 2009, including this T-15 LB.
