1973 Land Rover Series III SWB SUV

This Land Rover Series III was delivered new to Richard Paine of Bar Harbor, Maine, and came equipped with a 2,286cc, overhead-valve, inline 4-cylinder engine breathing through a single Zenith carburetor and delivering 73 horsepower at 4,200 RPM. It is backed by a four-speed manual gearbox with stopping power provided by hydraulic drum brakes.

Mr. Paine was the founder of the nonprofit Seal Cove Auto Museum as a way to share his passion with the public. Some of his vehicles were purchased new, driven sparingly, and then put into heated storage with minimal mileage. That was the case with this Land Rover.

The Land Rover retains its original paint and interior, along with the original engine and running gear. It has under 5,800 miles on the odometer and retains its Seal Cove garage key fob, 1974 Gulf service sticker, and the 1974 Maine registration sticker.

This Land Rover is finished in Marine Blue and is one of the lowest-milage and most original early Land Rovers in existence.
