2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Roadster

The Ferrari 458 Speciale A (short for Aperta) was introduced in 2014 as a limited-edition convertible sibling to the 458 Speciale Coupe. They received a side-slip control (SSC) system which calculates the car's slip angle and makes near-instantaneous adjustments to match the driver's inputs. The SSC works in tandem with Ferrari's electronically controlled rear differential (E-Diff) and traction control (F1-Trac). Power is sourced from a 4.5-liter V8 offering nearly 600 horsepower at 9,000 RPM, along with 398 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 RPM. This output is 35 additional horsepower over the standard 458. This increase was courtesy of 14.0:1 compression, along with a raft of engine modifications that include everything from new pistons and updated combustion chambers to revised intake runners and carbon-fiber airbox and manifold.

The aluminum retractable hardtop takes a mere 14 seconds to deploy or retract at the push of a button. Zero-to-sixty mph is accomplished in three seconds and has a top speed just below 200 mph.

This particular example was delivered new to Ferrari dealer Ron Tonkin in March 2015. It wears a bespoke Giallo Modena exterior with a Blue NART racing stripe over a black alcantara cockpit. Optional specifications include red brake calipers and the AFS lighting system. Currently, there are just under 6,500 miles on the odometer. The current tires were mounted on the car in October of 2019, then showed approximately 5,100 miles.
