1973 Jaguar XKE E-Type Roadster

Jaguar's first production V-12-powered road-going vehicle arrived on the market in 1971 and was the company's first new engine since the debut of the post-war XK 120 in 1948. This particular Series 3 example is one of the 6,102 left-hand drive Roadsters produced between March 1971 and February 1975. It was completed in June of 1973 and left the factory wearing a Signale Red exterior over biscuit leather interior. It had a four-speed manual transmission, turbine wheels and whitewall tires, and was delivered new to British Motor Car Distributors in San Francisco, California at a cost of $8,653 plus delivery. The car's first owner was Frank Martin who kept this E-Type in Seattle under a Washington registration. In October 1975 Martin sold the car to Brian Wagner, also of Seattle, then indicating nearly 12,000 miles. A short time later, the car entered the care of the previous owner, and between August 1977 and November 1989, this E-Type claimed over 20 marque concours awards in sanctioned JCNA events across the Pacific Northwest.

The car wore its original turbine wheels until some point in 1982, whereupon they were stored away and wire wheels were fitted.

The car was sold to its current owners in early 2021 and currently has 28,515 original miles on the odometer.
