1936 Oldsmobile Series F Navigation
The 1936 Oldsmobile vehicles were powered by six and eight-cylinder engines with the six-cylinder, L-head Series F displacing 213 cubic inches and delivering 90 horsepower. It rested on a 115-inch wheelbase and was offered in seven different body styles with the most popular being the three-window business coupe.
This 1936 Oldsmobile Six Business Coupe was in the care of its original owners for a very long period of time and has had just two caretakers during its existence. The car was purchased new in January of 1936 from Supple Motors of Franklin, Massachusetts, by fellow city resident Mae Barnard. Around the 1960s, the car was re-registered by Charles Barnard, Mr. Barnar'd son, who by then lived in Darrien, Connecticut. Decades later, Mr. Barnard undertook some restoration measures, with the interior being retrimmed in 1999 with black and tan cloth uphostlery by Front Page Uphostlery of Norwalk, Connecticut. Beginning in 2014, the coupe received mechanical and cosmetic freshening by Automotive Restorations, Inc., of Stratford, Connecticut, with the work taking two years to complete. The restoration work was completed in 2016 and totaled in excess of $37,000. A few years later, it entered the care of its current caretaker.By Daniel Vaughan | Feb 2022
