The Pininfarina-designed Rolls-Royce Camargue coupe used underpinnings from the contemporary Silver Shadow and was powered by an up-rated version of the company's 6,750cc V8 engine with output disclosed as 'adequate.' The well-equipped luxury touring car received Rolls-Royce's advanced split-level air conditioning system which enabled independent temperature control at two levels. With a base price of $148,000, production remained exclusive. During its eleven-year production lifespan, ending in 1986, a mere 530 examples were built with just 30 being sent to the United States.
This particular example was delivered new to Italy as the final Camargue finished in Masons Laurel. At some point, it was given its current Crown (gold) exterior, and the interior was re-trimmed in tan leather. A late-1990s AM/FM/CD head unit has replaced the original stereo.
