1976 Aston Martin V8 Navigation
The Series III Aston Martin was introduced in 1973 and powered by a quartet of Weber 42 DCNF carburetors instead of the previous Bosch mechanical fuel injection system. To accommodate the carburetors, the hood had a large bulge. 100 mph was achieved in around 15 seconds and the top speed was approximately 145 mph.
This Aston Martin V8 Saloon was completed in August of 1976 for the United States market in Royal Claret Metallic over Burgundy leather interior. Its 5,340cc dual overhead camshaft V8 engine had four dual-throat Weber carburetors, a three-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, an independent suspension, a Philips AM/FM/Cassette radio, and was built to USA specifications. The car's original sticker price was $13,172 and it was built for Richard Popkin of Popkin and Shamir, Inc on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles. Much of the car's history from that point is not known.
By January of 2000, the car was owned by Robert Sarullo of Orlando, Florida. Prior to its acquisition, it had received some degree of restoration including a color change to dark blue and an interior retrim in gray leather. An air conditioning system was added at some point, but it is currently disconnected.
The current owner purchased the car in April of 2012, and only a single mile had been added to the odometer since that time.By Daniel Vaughan | Apr 2022
