1973 Porsche 911T Targa

As the United States continued to introduce new legislation intended at making vehicles safer and reduce emissions, the automotive landscape continued to change dramatically. The Porsche 911 enjoyed its final year with the classic 'long-hood' in 1973, as more robust impact bumpers were introduced with the G-body 911 era. Mid-year 1973 Porsche 911 T models were given Bosch's K-Jetronic fuel-injection (unlike their carbureted world-market siblings).

This particular example has 28,189 miles on the odometer. It was given a restoration using mostly original parts and continues to carry its numbers-matching engine. It wears an uncommon shade of Aubergine (a dark purple) with black leatherette seats. It has Fuchs alloy wheels, an AM/FM Blaupunkt radio, and a five-speed transmission.

During the car's early years, it was in the care of two Alabama-based owners. Its 10,000-mile maintenance and lubrication were performed in May of 1979 at Berlin Porsche Audi, Inc. of Charlottesville, Virginia. In October 2019, Porsche of Hilton Head, South Carolina serviced the gauges, repaired the high beam flasher switch, and adjusted the fuel trim. New spark plugs were installed in January of 2022.
