1961 Jaguar MKII Navigation
Jaguar Mark 2s with the 3.8-liter engine was capable of achieving a top speed of 125 mph, making it the fastest production saloon in the world at the time. Zero-to-sixty mph took 8.5 seconds.
This particular Mark 2 saloon with the 3.8-liter engine was completed at the factory on March 15th of 1961 and delivered new to Duchess Auto Company of Millerton, New York via distributor Jaguar Cars of New York. It wore a color combination of Opalescent Dark Green over Biscuit leather.
A month after arriving in New York, it was purchased by George Brothers of Great Barrington, Massachusetts. It passed through two additional owners during the 1980s before being acquired on Halloween 1987 by Robert Ducibella of Bethany, Connecticut. Mr. Ducibella actively displayed the vehicle at many events, claiming first prize at several Jaguar Club events. It is believed that while owned by Mr. Ducibella, the car received its factory-correct Opalescent Dark Green sometime after 1997.
The car has a Radiomobile push-button radio, correct Smiths instrumentation, factory air conditioning system, and four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. There are a set of center-mount chrome wire wheels wrapped in Vredestein Sprint ST tires.By Daniel Vaughan | Apr 2022
