1963 Porsche 356 Navigation
This Porsche 356 B Carrera 2 2000 GS/GT 'Sunroof' Coupe by Reutter was completed on July 17th of 1963 and it wore chrome wheels, a luggage rack, and a Ruby Red exterior. It had black leatherette upholstery with grey corduroy inserts, Skai-Dur luggage, an antenna, safety belts, headrests, and an electric sunroof. It was delivered new to a physician in Munich via distributor MAHAG. It was later exported to California where it was given a multi-year rotisserie restoration where it was brought down to the bare metal, returned to its original exterior color, and then reupholstered in correct-pattern black leatherette with black corduroy inserts.
The car is powered by a Type 587/2 competition GT engine which was sourced by Porsche restoration facility Raceline Feustel in Neunkirch, Switzerland. This engine, number 98001, was originally installed in Works Carrera 2 GT chassis 123451, and then spare Works chassis 13336.
