This Ferrari 195 Inter wears coachwork by Ghia. Just like the 1966 Inter before it, the 195 Inter employs a single twin-choke carburetor, although some examples received a three twin-choke carburetor setup. The 2,341cc single overhead camshaft alloy V12 engine with the three carburetors produced an estimated 130 horsepower at 6,000 RPM.
The first owner of this 195 Inter was Ferrari factory driver Luigi 'Gigi' Villoresi. The car left Italy for Switzerland in 1955 and remained there until 1961, when it came to the United States and into the care of Mr. Cowden of Dallas, before passing to John Profit, also in the US. Jos Segimon of Madrid acquired it around 1988 and in 1991 a restoration began by Bob Houghton in England, and for the next eight years remained in the UK before returning to the US in October 1998, where it appeared at the La Jolla Concours d'Elegance in California. The following May, the car was displayed at the 35th Annual Ferrari Club of America Annual Meeting held at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia. In January of 2000, the car was displayed at the Cavallino Classic concours in Palm Beach, Florida, where it was awarded the Judge's Cup, followed by the award of Best Ferrari at the Greenwich Concours in June that same year.
The current caretaker acquired the Ferrari in May of 2002. Since that time, approximately $150,000 has been spent on maintenance and service.By Daniel Vaughan | Apr 2022
