1953 Allard K3 Navigation
This 1953 Allard K3 is powered by its original Cadillac 331 cubic-inch overhead valve V8 engine breathing through twin carburetors and delivering 210 horsepower at 4,150 RPM. It is backed by a five-speed manual gearbox and there are four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. In the front is an independent suspension setup while the rear uses a De Dion configuration. It is believed that this K3 resided for most of its earliest years in Southern California and may have taken part in the sports car races at the Pomona Fairgrounds.
This Allard K3 received a comprehensive frame-off restoration between 2004 and 2007. Its chassis was refurbished and powder coated, while the bodywork was refinished in a bright blue with red leather upholstery. There is black carpeting and black wire wheels.
After the restoration was completed, the Allard was driven in the 2009 California Mille and then joined a private East Coast collection, where it remained until its recent sale to the current caretaker.By Daniel Vaughan | May 2022
