1959 Jaguar MK IX Sedan

The Jaguar Mark IX is the last of the series of big Jaguar sedans built during the 1950s. Many people refer to it as the baby Rolls Royce. Mark IX sedans are known for their luxury and comfort and, as such, were popular with people who wanted a well-appointed and luxurious sedan to drive themselves, or to have driven by a professional driver. What most people don't know is that Mark IXs were campaigned extensively in the Baja endurance races and in Northern Africa throughout the 1950s and 1960s.

This Mark IX was originally built for the British market. It is a right-hand drive car with an automatic transmission. It has a sunroof, but no air conditioning, which was rare in England. It was acquired from an estate and had been sitting in a storage building for almost thirty years. It went through an extensive cosmetic restoration, including new seat covers of the sumptuous front and rear bench seats and restoration of the undercarriage and the paintwork.
