1912 Mitchell Model 5-6 Touring

The Mitchell is an American marque known for building very high-quality automobiles. Like many of its contemporaries, Mitchell initially produced horse-drawn coaches before expanding into bicycle wheel parts, motorcycles, and eventually automobiles. Beginning in 1903, Mitchell, a company in Racine, Wisconsin, made the transition to automobiles. Mitchell experimented with multiple different engine configurations and designs but eventually settled on a great mechanical design using a full overhead valve configuration and offered both four-cylinder and large six-cylinder models. The company built cars from 1903 until 1923, when it was absorbed by Nash. This famous 'Baby Six' was produced by the Mitchell-Lewis Motor Company. Sales for 1912 reached 6,000 automobiles. This is one of only three examples known to exist.
