1968 Porsche 912 Targa

The Targa was named for the company's victories in the Sicilian road race. The open-topped Porsche variant of its 911/912 incorporated a stainless steel roll bar, a removable roof panel, and foldaway plastic rear window for an open-air experience. Beginning as an option from late 1967 onwards, the plastic rear window could be substituted for a conventional glass window.

This particular 1968 Porsche 912 Targa is a U.S.-specification example finished in Irish Green over a black leatherette interior. Its 1,582cc overhead valve flat four-cylinder engine has twin Solex 40 PII-4 carburetors and delivered 102 horsepower at 5,800 RPM. It has the optional five-speed manual gearbox and more uncommon Soft-Window Targa top with a rear shelf and compartments instead of the +2 seating arrangement.

This Porsche was given a restoration under previous ownership along with a repaint in its original color, reupholstered interior, resealing of the Targa top, and an overhaul of its 1.6-liter air-cooled four-cylinder engine.
