Robert Lojewski of Chicago placed an order for a new Corvette Coupe through his local dealership, Brigance Chevrolet Sales Inc. in Oak Park, Illinois on April 3rd of 1966. He paid $5,326.88 on May 20th, 1966 for the Tuxedo Black with black leather upholstery coupe, powered by a 427 cubic-inch engine with 390 horsepower paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. It had a Positraction rear end, transistor ignition, radio, whitewall tires, and side-mounted exhaust.
Over the next decade, the car was used sparingly, accumulating about 10,000 miles. At some point, the Corvette was fitted with optional knock-off wheels.
This Corvette has remained in single-family ownership since new and currently has 10,672 miles on the odometer. In 2014, it was inducted into Bloomington Gold's Great Hall as the 1966 Certification Prototype.By Daniel Vaughan | May 2022
