1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe Navigation
Did you ever see the first Cobra Aero Coupe as it raced on February 14th, 1964 at Daytona Speedway? Peter Brock designed the Cobra Coupe on napkins and the shop walls at Shelby American in California. Pete also designed the 1963 Corvette Stingray. The Cobra Coupe was built in less than six months to race at Daytona, hence the Daytona Coupe. CSX2287 was leading the race when a pit fire retired the car. Many updates have been done to the first Coupe, so it doesn't look as it did in 1964.
Over a period of five years, using black and white pictures and Peter Brock's help, the first Coupe has been recreated in the 1964 configuration.
