1993 Porsche 964 Carrera RS Navigation
Porsche constructed 55 examples of the Carrera RS 3.8 and 11 of those received the track-focused Clubsport package (option code M003) which added Recaro racing seats, a roll cage, and a competition harness. This particular Carrera RS 3.8 left the factory with the Clubsport package and remains in museum-quality condition. It was built to order for Tobias Hagenmeyer, CEO of Getrag, the official transmission supplier to Porsche and many other automotive manufacturers, and fitted with numerous features uncommon to other RS 3.8. Along with the M003 Clubsport package, this example was the only one supplied with full interior carpeting as it was intended for street use. Mr. Hagenmeyer also specified a Blaupunkt Paris radio, a black exterior, and the seat shells, harnesses, brake calipers, door pulls, lettering, and rear model designation all painted in yellow. This is one of just five RS 3.8s that were originally finished in black.
Mr. Hagenmeyer personally collected the car in Weissach, Germany, with the plate number 'LB-RS 380.' The car remained in his ownership for a brief period before being sold to Jacques Van Cleven, a Belgian Porsche enthusiast who retained the car for two-decades. It was later sold to the current American collector. Before importing the car into the US, the new owner had Porsche perform a comprehensive service at a cost of over 16,000 euros.
The car currently has just over 8,500 km (around 5,280 miles) on its odometer.By Daniel Vaughan | Jun 2022
