The Ferrari 488 GTB 70th Anniversary Edition was introduced in 2017 to celebrate Ferrari's 70th Anniversary and to showcase its in-house Tailor Made Program . 70 different liveries all representing specific cars and models from the company's past were built, utilizing unique colour schemes and exclusive features. Each livery was featured on only one of each of Ferrari's five production models at the time, including the 488 GTB, 488 Spider, California T, GTC/4 Lusso and the F12 Berlinetta.
The Ferrari 488 GTB came equipped with a 3,900cc dual overhead camshaft V-8 engine with two Twin-Scroll IHI Turbochargers and direct fuel injection. It delivered 661 horsepower at 8,000 RPM and was paired with a seven-speed automated F1 Dual-Clutch transaxle and four-wheel carbon-ceramic disc brakes. In the front was a double-wishbone suspension with a multi-link setup at the rear, with Magnetorheological Dampers all round. Zero-ti-sixty mph was accomplished in under three seconds and the improved carbon-ceramic brakes shortened stopping distances over its predecessor by nine percent. Downforce was increased by 50 percent over the 458 through its body design, front splitters, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and underbody vortex generators.
This particular Ferrari 488 GTB 70th Anniversary Edition is finished in 'Bold Yellow' which pays homage to the 1967 Dino 206 Competizione Prototipo, the mythical racing prototype known as 'The Yellow Dino.' Its Giallo Tre Strati paint scheme is a deep metallic yellow tri-coat paired with Ichiostro leather interior and electric blue Alcantara carpeting. (Ichiostro is deep black furniture-grade leather with both natural and fine grain). A yellow Cavallino is embroidered into the headrests of the historic ribbed pattern seats. Extensive use of carbon fiber was used for the front splitter, rockers, rear ducts, engine covers, wheel center caps, and rear diffuser.
This Ferrari was specified with front axle lift, front and rear parking sensors, parking camera, auto-dimming mirrors, power seats, premium hi-fi sound system, Apple CarPlay, HomeLink, and AFS lighting system.By Daniel Vaughan | Jun 2022
